Admittedly, its not fun.
Repentance can even be painful - when you recognized that you have sinned against your Heavenly Father and need to ask His forgiveness.
But, as the saying goes "no pain, no gain'
When you do your part by repenting, God does His part by forgiving. He doesn't hold those faults against you, and you've got a clean slat before Him.
Easy? Nope.
Worthwhile? Definitely!

Fear not the weapon of the wielder, but the wielder of the weapon
Fear not the weapon of the wielder, but the wielder of the weapon
Wielder - God
Weapon - Those who serve God
Wielder - God
Weapon - Those who serve God
This means that, when Jesus shines, the preacher gets the credit. But if the preacher fails, Jesus gets the blame.
Some may not get what this means. So let's put it this way. Jesus is the Father, and the preacher is the son. Say, the Father always discipline the son to behave nicely outside the house, like talk politely to other people or pay attention in class. When other people see the son doing this, they will praise him, and thus all the credits goes to the son.
But, if the son bahaves rudely and fails in his acedemics, then those who saw the son's behaviour will say that his Father didn't teach his son well. And so if the son fails, the Father gets all the blame.
